My Top 10 must see Christmas Movies

By Cathy Fox-Christensen December 1, 2017

We now have Christmas movies every day. But I love the classics. Each one brings me to a different place. Here is my list and why:
1.            It’s a Wonderful Life – this one I must have tissues for. I know the how the story goes but it gets me every-time! It reminds me that the little things I do daily does impact someone someway somehow. So, this little gem reminds me to keep on keeping on.
2.            Miracle on 34th Street – This is a classic in every sense of the term! It reminds me that if we dream it it can happen. That the belief in the magic of Christmas can bring you what you truly need.
3.            The Little Drummer Boy – you know the movie that you come back to each year? This is one for me. This reminds me we all have gifts to give and it doesn’t have to be a 60 inch TV but a simple song played on your drum will bring a smile to someone important!
4.            A Christmas Story – I like this movie only because it brings joy to my husband! It brings humor about the Holiday like no other and from a kids perspective, can’t beat that!
5.            Holiday Inn – again this classic is beautifully rendered and VERY kid friendly! My love for musicals for Christmas started with seeing this one for the first time and the next one also!
6.            White Christmas – a classic movie with a classic song. Bet you will be singing it before long! I’m dreaming of a White Christmas then a quick melt right after!
7.            The Santa Clause – Seriously, not really! This movie makes me laugh every single time I see it! Tim Allen as a reluctant Santa ubber funny!
8.            The Polar Express – Taught me if you peek all you will get for Christmas is some stupid underwear, not really but couldn’t resist! This is a story of BELIEF! Believe and it will come! This is a Christmas Movie we watch and YES we have HOT CHOCOLATE!
9.            A Charlie Brown Christmas – well, being from Minnesota this is a classic I have watched every year since I was a kid. Charlie Brown is the kid who does not feel he fits in and I have identified with his character. I would be the one that would get that tree and it would flourish.
10.          Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer – this one brings me warm fuzzies every year! The story of misfits who bring Christmas back! Seriously a great story line!
So here is my list and some of my why’s! What are your favorites?
